Elmer Higdem

Elmer T. Higdem, 83, of Sun City, Ariz., and formerly of Libby, died Friday, Feb. 23, 2007.

Elmer was born Jan. 31, 1924, in Malta to Alfred and Marie Higdem.

He enlisted in the Army in April, 1944, and served in Germany.

Elmer married Verda Howell on June 1, 1947.

He operated a Ford and Chrysler dealership in Libby from 1957 until 1985.

Elmer was a member of Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church in Sun City.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Bonnie.

He is survived by his wife; son Dennis and wife Nancy of Carver; sisters Alice Dove of Malta, Inga Olson of Kalispell and Evelyn Lyon, Seattle, Wash.; three grandchildren; one great-granddaughter, and several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of the Valley, West Clinical Office, 9320 W. Peoria Ave, Peoria, AZ 85345.

A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. Sunday, April 22, at the Lutheran Church in Malta.
