Protecting the children and property

To the Editor:
I am writing in response to the protests that have taken place in Libby regarding a local police officer. Libby is where I plan to pre-retire this summer. I do not know the issues here to speak pro or con towards either party, so I won't. However, even if this is a teenager simply being a teenager, and if this situation would have occured where I'm from (San Diego, Ca.), the teenager might not be alive. I was a teenager many years ago and enjoyed doing stupid things. I hope the community of Libby consider that kids are kids, and allowed reasonable latitude. In turn the police have a responsibility to protect the people and property of Libby.
