Paul Richard Forsyth

Paul Richard Forsyth, 87, of Northfield, S.D., passed away Wednesday, May 23, 2007, at the Northfield Care Center.

Paul was born May 21, 1920 in Northville, S.D., to Howard and Edna °)()(Batteen°+/- Forsyth. He spent much of his young life on the family farm exercising the racehorses his father trained. After a serious hip injury the family moved to Huron, S. D. where Paul attended Huron College. He graduated with minors in English, math, psychology, history and religion.

He married Dorothy Holridge on May 6, 1944. They both taught school in a number of South Dakota towns and Petersburg, Alaska. Paul and Dorothy settled in Kalispell. After he retired, he and Dorothy moved to Libby. In 1993, after Dorothy°Os death he moved to Worthington, Minn., and he moved into the Northfield Manor in 2001.

He was preceded in death by his wife; a brother, John; a grandson, Scott; and his parents.

Paul is survived by his son, Jerry; special friend, Ann German; grandson, Jay and wife Sara Forsyth, all of Libby; sister, Madge Wegman of Watertown, S.D.; sister-in-law, Pat Forsyth of Northfield; nieces, Kathy and Paul Wise of Northfield, Michele and Paul Patnaude of Maplewood, Minn., Janelle and Brian Stroh of Lakeville, Minn., and nephew Bruce and Nicky Forsyth of Hanover, Minn.

Services were Sunday, June 2, at the Chapel of the Northfield Care Center with burial at the Fairview Cemetery in Northville, N.D.A6P5
