Gene Vernon Kleppe

Gene Vernon Kleppe, 56, formerly of Libby, died May 23, 2007 in North Pole, Alaska of heart related problems.

He was born Dec. 15, 1950 in Bennett, Iowa to Vernon W. A. Kleppe and Betty Bertha M. Kleppe.

Gene served nine years in the Navy, including three tours of Vietnam. He was a police officer in Texarkana, Texas for 15 years.

He is survived by his wife Sami Kleppe of Libby; son, Shane Kleppe of Texarkana; daughter, Chelsi Jean Kleppe of Dallas, Texas; grandson, Hayden of Dallas and three cherished Yorkies.

Gene was able to fulfill his life long dream of living in Alaska. He will be sorely missed.
