Giving thanks to local volunteers

| July 30, 2007 12:00 AM

To the Editor:

In 2000, the Knights of Columbus and the Chamber of Commerce jointly organized a community appreciation dinner for volunteers of the Libby Fire Department, Libby Ambulance and David Thompson Search and Rescue.

The members of these organizations and their families give a lot to this community. It is long overdue for the community of Libby to host another appreciation dinner.

With your financial help, this dinner will be held at the VFW community room at 6:30 p.m. on Sept. 14.

Please help us show our appreciation for all the hard work and time that these volunteers give the community, not only in services, but also the many training hours they perform to serve the community.

We are asking the businesses of Libby to put out jars to collect funds for this project. Money can be deposited at the First National Bank of Montana, in the Community Appreciation Dinner Fund account, sent to Donald Wegner at 226 Wapiti Drive in Libby, or by calling 293-8612 for pick up.

I want to thank you very much for your contribution for this worthy project.

Donald Wegner
