Sandra Gilstrap

Sandra Ann Gilstrap, 49, of Dillon, died Wednesday, Jan. 17, 2007, at Barrett Hospital and Healthcare.

She was born March 13, 1957, in Townsend, the ninth child of Sam and Ruth Gilstrap. Her enthusiasm for life started immediately and carried her through the rest of her time on earth.

At the age of 7 her family moved to the Monteview, Mudlake, Idaho area. She graduated from West Jefferson High School in 1976.

She began her ministry in Troy, continued on to Yaak and finished her ministry in Beaverhead County.

Sandy felt she was blessed with two families, her immediate family and everyone else that she knew. She taught and loved all of the children she came into contact with as if they were her own, irregardless of age.

Sandy is survived by two sisters and six brothers: Terry and Ron Gilstrap of Mudlake, Idaho, Don Gilstrap and wife Sandra of Rigby, Idaho, Phillip Gilstrap and wife Milly of St. Anthony, Idaho, Deb Gilstrap of Idaho Falls, Kelly Gilstrap and wife Noreen, David Gilstrap and wife Andrea of Shelley, Idaho, and Sally Eberhardt and husband Jack of Laurel, Md. She is also survived by 13 nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her mother and father and her brothers Jay and Larry. Her sister Kay followed her in death.

Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 27, at BW Lodge Gymnasium in Dillon. A potluck reception will be held following services at the Elks Lodge. There will be a private burial after the services.
