Arvadia 'Bennie' Parsons

Arvadia L. "Bennie" Parsons, 64, died Friday, Feb. 23, 2007, at her home in Libby after a long bout with cancer.

She was born Jan. 24, 1943, in Stamford, Texas, to Cleir and Crystal Caldwell Sommer. She attended grade school in Phoenix, Ariz.

At the age of 10 she moved to Libby. At 16 she graduated from Libby High School in the top 10 of the Class of 1960.

She married Robert Parsons on June 10, 1960, at Crystal and Ken Paulson's home in Libby.

She went to work for Lincoln County at the Department of Motor Vehicles and quickly worked her way to the head of the department. She retired in 1998.

She enjoyed reading, music, computers, art, photography, learning, cooking, and fishing. She was a member of the Libby Christian Church since 1964.

Survivors include her husband Bob of Libby; sons Cash Parsons and wife Patricia of Kalispell, Carl Parsons and wife Valerie of Libby, and Chris Parsons and wife Betty of Libby; sisters Dawn Thrasher and husband John of Troy, and Reba Varela and husband Carlos of Phoenix, Ariz.; and grandchildren Josh, Jeremiah, Stephen, Sunny-Mae, Rebecca, Stephanie, Tyler, and Josiah.

Services were held Tuesday, Feb. 27, at the Libby Christian Church.
