Freedom, responsibility connected

| February 20, 2007 11:00 PM

To the Editor:

When you take away my freedoms, do you take away my personal responsibility?

That's a question I struggle with.

With many outside and newly organized groups of non-elected folks who try to shape or impose laws and rules on those of us who live here and enjoy the freedom our areas offer, I see an eroding of personal responsibility. It appears to be part of a bigger problem.

No one is responsible for their actions. It's always some excuse, someone else's fault.

Do we need someone to tell us where to go, when to go and what to do?

It does build bigger government, more laws, more rules, more paperwork.

I will continue to use my sense of personal responsibility to fight for my freedoms and try to encourage others to do the same. I will only bow down to the Highest Power, God.
