To the Editor:
After reading your article regarding the move to enhanced 911, I would like to encourage the move as soon as practical.
From experience in a rural area, the E-911 will save lives and make ambulance, police and fire responses quicker. If you can also get mapping programs to go with your program it will also help dispatchers to guide emergency crews to the address through the most direct route.
One life saved is worth all of the anxiety of moving to the enhanced 911. Our county implemented E-911 several years ago. We would not go back.
I would also encourage upgrading to Phase II capability to locate cell phone calls. Good luck in the migration to E-911.
