Deputies serve multiple arrest and search warrants

| December 11, 2007 11:00 PM

On Thursday, Dec. 6 at approximately 8 p.m., a team of Lincoln County Sheriff's deputies served multiple arrest and search warrants in the Libby area. These warrants were the culmination of an extensive investigation led by Sheriff's Detective Boyd White.

The first warrants were served at the Sandman Motel, where thanks to the cooperation of motel management, deputies located and arrested Wayne Leroy Waldron, Jr., 39, of Libby. During a subsequent search of the room, firearms, camera equipment and cash, as well as a number of other items believed to be stolen in several recent local burglaries were found.

Search warrants were also executed on the suspect's vehicles. Waldron's vehicle, which matched the descriptions provided by several witnesses, was located in the Bowker Trailer park. It was subsequently impounded for further forensic testing. A search of that vehicle also revealed more firearms and property believed stolen during local burglaries.

The Lincoln County Sheriff's Office continues to work closely with other agencies, and evidence has been recovered linking this subject to crimes in surrounding jurisdictions. This investigation is ongoing and the Sheriff's Office hopes to recover more property as the case unfolds.

If anyone has information regarding this or any other crimes, please call the Lincoln County Sheriff's Office at 293-4112.
