David K. Barnett

David K. Barnett, 44, of Libby died Friday, Dec. 7, 2007 at his home in Libby. He was born Dec. 12, 1962 in Libby to Gail and Tammy Burpee Barnett. He grew up and attended school in Libby and graduated from Libby High School in 1981. He enlisted in the United States Navy and served for four years as a radioman 3rd class.

He married Rita Carr in 1986 in San Antonio, Texas. After the birth of their daughter they moved back to Libby where David started driving a logging truck. He worked driving logging truck for 17 years. He then went to work for Environmental Restoration for five years and just recently went to work for Peter Kwiwit in Canada. His father-in-law Arlan Carr, great-aunt Shirley Hall and grandfather Lloyd Barnett preceded him in death.

Survivors include: his wife Rita Barnett of Libby; daughter Arlene Barnett of Libby; father Gail Barnett and his wife Helen of Libby; sisters Michelle Foss and her husband Scott and Ashley Barnett, both of Libby, and Lindsay Barnett of Columbia Falls; brother James Barnett and his wife Debbie of Columbia Falls; mother Tammy Vanlue of Bakersfield, Calif.; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Services will be at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 13, 2007 at the Libby Christian Church. Local arrangements are by the Nelson & Vial Funeral Home in Libby.
