Libby is a great place to live and visit

To the Editor:

Mike Crill's letters offend and make me totally outraged. He is so ridiculous and, evidently, some people take him seriously, to judge by the letter from Corey Foreman in Wednesday's paper - right next to Crill's diatribe of garbage.

I am almost 86 years of age. I went to high school in Libby in the 1930s when Zonolite was in full production. We used to play with the stuff and drop bits on a hot stove to watch it turn golden as it swelled.

Two years ago, I hiked into Leigh Lake. Early this month, I flew to Florida for a wedding and then to North Carolina to visit my daughter. Last summer, I drove 2,400 miles by myself to visit my kids in Canada.

Talk of how deadly asbestos is in Libby right now is ridiculous and really a criminal lie! Yes, it has caused illness and deaths. But right now Libby is a beautiful, healthy place to live.

Please, Mr. Foreman, don't hesitate to come and visit.
