Lady golfers were out in good numbers on Wednesday, Aug. 8 as 24 competitors tried out the new nine holes at Cabinet View. It was the first Ladies League Day contest held on the newly completed course, which opened for play July 28.

The tight fairways, tricky greens and ever-present unplayable rough did not detract from the spectacular scenery or dampen the spirits of those who participated.

Sharon Michels negotiated the hazards in only 48 strokes to capture Low Gross for Group A. Alice Miller topped the B Group with 53. Low Net honors went to Lois Flasche with 34 and Anna Guthrie with 33 for Groups A and B, respectively. Alice Miller also recorded a chip-in on Hole #17.

Game Of The Day competition will resume after the new course has been officially rated later this month.
