CVCC Ladies' League continues to play

It was "Catch Up" week for Cabinet View lady golfers on Wednesday, Aug. 15. Last week's competition was held on the as-yet un-rated new nine holes, so the specialty prizes involving handicaps were not awarded. Therefore, there were four sets of winners in this week's play.One event involved being closest to the pin on #9 green after chipping a ball out of the sand trap. Group A winner was Blanche Ward, while Alice Miller came the closest for Group B. Winners of the Long Drive contest were Sharon Michels and Judy Strong. Sandy Willis captured the prize for the Fewest Putts in Group A with 15, with Barb Tripp using only 16 putts to best Group B. Tripp also won the Longest Putt challenge while Sharon Michels secured that honor in Group A.Michels and Tripp were Multiple winners as they also topped the Low Gross category with scores of 49 and 55. Low Net Honors went to Sharon Curtiss (33) and Alice Miller (35). Linda Watson scored a chip-in on Hole #9.Ladies' League will continue Wednesday morning play throughout the month of August.- Phyll Minde
