Former Libby resident Dan King Waylett, 70, of Hampton, Va., died April 17, 2007.
Dan was born Feb. 1, 1937 in Butte to Harry and Correia Waylett.
A graduate of Libby High School in 1955 and Montana State in 1960, he served for 26 years in the U.S. Air Force and retired as a Colonel in 1986. Waylett's distinguished career included the Meritorious Service Medal, the Air Medal, and the Vietnam Service Medal.
He is survived by wife Maryann McGinnis Waylett; two daughters, Denise May and husband Lenny of Bellevue, Neb., Michele Burgess and husband Bob of Hampton; Son Darin Waylett and wife Christine of Richmond; two sisters-in-law, Donna Waylett of Dillon, Mont., and Cathy Waylett of Paso Robels, Calif.; five grandchildren and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Don and Pete Waylett, and granddaughter Challon May.
