Thieves shouldn't steal items from daughter's memorial

To the Editor:

What a sad, pathetic world we live in.

I recently found out the cross at the end of the Kootenai bridge belonged to my 16-year-old daughter who was killed Dec. 20, 2005. I was so excited to be able to decorate her cross along with the wreath that I keep on the bridge for her. I went all out, a beautiful blue Easter bunny, that is now gone.

Sad, but true.

I cannot believe that someone would stoop so low as to steal off a cross that represents a death. I sure hope whoever you are you don't know where I live — you would probably steal her concrete angel that stands overlooking Troy in my yard.

I hope as you look at that Easter bunny, you see on each of his feet her name, Jamo, and 'I love you' on the other.

Her 18th birthday is next week. I plan on decorating the cross again. If you feel it's something you would like to have, please contact me and I will buy you one. But please leave hers for her. It's not for thieves, it's for my daughter, who is now no longer with us.

Whoever you are I hope you know that Jamo knows and would be very disappointed in you, along with me.
