Gwen Riggleman

Gwen Blackwell Riggleman, 88, died Wednesday, April 11, 2007 at her home in Libby.

She was born April 9, 1919, to Arthur and Alice Brock in Cornelius, Ore.

Gwen attended school in Forest Grove, Ore., and after moving to Libby with her family, she graduated fom Libby High School in 1938.

She married A.C. "Connie" Blackwell and worked as a bookkeeper and business manager in a construction business they operated in Libby for many years. The company constructed several commercial buildings in the 1960s, including the U.S. Postal building in Libby.

She also worked at the Lincoln County Courthouse and as an office manager for a local dental practice.

Her husband preceded her in death in 1973. She later married Herbert Riggleman, who died in 1983.

A person of many interests, Gwen had been an active member of the Libby Senior Citizens as well as a member of the Kit Kat band. She was an accomplished keyboard musician as well as a collector of coins, stamps, baseballs and other interesting items.

Gwen was a lifelong baseball fan and followed all her favorite teams.

Survivors include step-children and several cousins.

Services were held Monday at the City of Libby Cemetery.
