Jimmie Peterson

Jimmie P. Peterson, 76, died Thursday, March 29, 2007, at Libby.

He was born at Barrett, Minn., to A.T. Peterson and Esther Powers Peterson.

A veteran of the United States Navy, he served aboard the USS Point Cruz.

He served with the Miles City Fire Department from 1958 to 1980.

He came to the Libby area in 1985 and was active in veterans affairs. He was a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars as well as past state commander.

Jimmie was service officer for VFW Post 1548 for five years and was a liaison with the Montana Division of Veterans Affairs.

He is survived by his daughters, Jamie Johnson of Antigo, Wis., and Andria Holman of Forsyth; a sister, Nancy B. Wilson and husband Howard of Florence; one grandson and four granddaughters; five great-granddaughters; and numerous nieces and nephews.
