Phyllis Weisbeck
Phyllis P. Weisbeck, 62, of Stevensville and formerly of Libby, died Sunday, Sept. 24, 2006, at St. Patrick Hospital in Missoula of advanced kidney failure.
She was born on Jan. 20, 1944, in Lincoln, Neb., to Herbert and Malinda Nobis Manke.
As a young girl, Phyllis lived on the family farm, and while still quite young, moved to Lincoln.
She graduated from Lincoln Northeast High School in 1961 and attended National Business Institute in Lincoln for two years.
On May 5, 1962, Phyllis married David S. Weisbeck at Herreid, S.D. The couple lived in Lincoln for two years while she worked for the city of Lincoln. The couple then moved to Rapid City, where she was a "home" mom. They later moved to Libby, where they remained for 38 years before moving to Stevensville in 2005.
Phyllis was a member of the U.S. Jayceens and a Girl Scout leader. She was very active in the Catholic Church, including the choir, as an R.E. teacher and with the Cursillo Movement.
While in Libby, Phyllis worked with her husband on the farm and in other business ventures and for Libby Public Schools for 11 years.
Phyllis enjoyed TV and playing cards especially with her son-in-laws and grandchildren, and watching wildlife from her living room window.
Phyllis was dearly loved, and her children and grandchildren consulted her often. She loved and "guided" her husband in raising her flower gardens.
She is survived by her husband; four daughters, Victoria Huffman and husband Kevin of LeGrande, Ore., Holly Scheel and husband Russell of Astoria, Ore., and Amber Duncan and husband Tony and Amy Harmala and husband Jeremy, all of Billings; a son, Steve Weisbeck of Wenatchee, Wash.; a sister, Sandra Grant of Lincoln; and seven grandchildren.
Visitation will be 6 to 8:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 29, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Stevensville. A vigil and rosary will begin at 7 p.m.
Mass of the Christian Burial will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 30, at St. Mary's Catholic Church with the Rev. Michael Smith officiating. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery.
