More information needed on elections
To the Editor:
My family and friends have recently attempted to gain information regarding the upcoming elections in November. This has proven somewhat frustrating, since publicity regarding the candidates and their respective platforms appears quite limited.
When important political positions are up for grabs, it is imperative the voters have as much insight as possible in order to make their vote count. Since the primary last spring we have seen little or nothing in the print media that would enlighten folks on both the issues and the candidates' positions and perspectives.
I believe The Western News does a good job in relaying interesting community affairs but has room for improvement in fulfilling its obligation to keep subscribers informed on the real issues of essential services, growth plans, infrastructure enhancement and above all, political agendas of those who directly influence our daily lives.
