Rose West

Rose M. West, 76, died Wednesday, Sept. 20, 2006, at St. John's Lutheran Hospital in Libby.

She had been a longtime resident of San Diego, Calif., before coming to Libby three years ago.

Rose was born at Camden, N.J., on Nov. 23, 1929, and raised and educated at Atlantic City. She had lived at many naval installations throughout the states and overseas during her husband's career with the U.S. Navy.

She enjoyed being an active and involved mother, serving as mentor and "sportsmom" to her four children. She was an expert at doing crossword puzzles and cryptograms and was a bingo player extraordinaire!

Survivors include her children, Russell DeVon West of Santee, Calif., Anthony Dorn West of Spokane, Wash., Michael Dominic West of North Manchester, Ind., and Tina Kim Moore of Libby; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Services will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 23, at the City of Libby Cemetery with Pastor Kevin Lindgren officiating. Friends may call at the Nelson & Vial Funeral Home from 1 to 5 p.m. on Friday and until 2 p.m. on Saturday.
