Betty Roberts

Elizabeth "Betty" Wiswall Roberts, 87, died Tuesday, Sept. 12, 2006, at Guardian Angel Homes in Liberty Lake, Wash.

Betty was born June 11, 1919, in Jerome, Idaho. She was married for 47 years to Robert T. Roberts, who preceded her in death.

She was a longtime resident of Libby, where she and Robert operated a business, retiring in 1985 and then moving to Spokane. Active in her church and volunteer positions in the community earned her the "Women of the Year" award in 1978.

She is survived by sons John and Tom and their wives; three grandsons; one granddaughter; and one great-granddaughter.

Visitation will be from noon to 8 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 15, at Thornhill Valley Chapel in Spokane Valley, Wash.

Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 16, at Spokane Valley Baptist Church.
