Jean Troyer

Jean Troyer, 59, of Libby, died Saturday, Sept. 9, 2006, at St. John's Lutheran Hospital.

She was born Sept. 21, 1946, in St. Ignatius to Francis and Dorothy Brooks Griffey.

The family lived in Ronan and Columbia Falls before coming to Libby in 1952.

Jean graduated from Libby High School in 1964.

Later that year, she married Ira Troyer.

Jean was a waitress at the Shamrock Cafe and later worked at Sears for several years. She then returned to the restaurant business, working at White Knight, Treasure Mountain and most recently at Beck's Montana Cafe until retiring due to ill health.

Jean enjoyed doing lawn and garden work but most especially she enjoyed being a grandmother.

Survivors include her husband of Libby; children, Todd Troyer and wife Tanya of Gothamberg, Neb., Dara Murray and husband Todd of Libby, and Jessi Troy and wife Katie of Spokane, Wash.; a sister, Dixie Cummings of Libby; brothers Randy Griffey of Libby and Darrel Griffey of Arizona; and 10 grandchildren.

A gathering will take place at 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 16, at the Jaycee Clubhouse in Libby. Memorials may be made to Wings, P.O. Box 1550, Libby, MT, 59923. Arrangements are by Nelson & Vial Funeral Home.
