Doris Mason Davis

Doris Mason Davis, 88, died Thursday, Oct. 12, 2006, at Libby Care Center.

She was born Dec. 14, 1917, in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, to the late Joseph and Bertha Adams.

Doris spent her early childhood in Smithers, B.C., where her father was a pioneer pharmacist tending to the early settlers and Indian population.

The family moved to California and she spent her teenage years in La Mesa.

Doris attended Kellsey-Jenny Business College in San Diego.

She moved to Montana in 1959 and spent the rest of her life in her beloved mountains.

Doris loved her family, gardening, canning, reading and classical music. She had a great love for animals, especially cats.

Doris was one of those rare people one feels instantly comfortable with and she will be greatly missed by her family and everyone who had the blessing of knowing her.

Doris also was preceded in death by her sister, and a son, Randy Lacy.

She is survived by her children Carolyn Fetting of Downers Grove, Ill., Jane and Floyd Bain, Linda and Derek Meyer, Bart and Andie Stapley, and Vel and Tim Shaver, all of Troy; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held 3 p.m. Friday, Oct. 20, at Milnor Lake Cemetery.
