Velma Walker

Velma Pearl Walker, 74, of Libby died Sunday, Oct. 1, 2006, at her home.

Velma was born Sept. 13, 1932, in Berryville, Ark., to Enama L. and Minnie B. Holden Beller.

She married Maxie Boise Walker on Feb. 5, 1952.

Velma was an avid historian and did research on her family. She also enjoyed reading and playing the piano. Velma began playing piano at age 12 in her hometown church and played for several churches over the years.

She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and instilled a love of reading and learning in her children.

Velma was preceded in death by her sister, Maxine Fulton.

She is survived by her husband; children, Mike Walker of Oregon, Kenneth Walker and his wife, Susanne, Cherylnn Wilkinson, and Teresa Jensen, all of California, Evelyn Walker of Texas, and Marilyn Walker of Iowa; brothers, Harris and Ernest Beller and their wives, Juanita and Irene, all of Libby; 16 grandchildren, Melissa, Steven, Jason, Corey, Eric, Matthew and Nicholas Walker, Aaron and Greg Anderson, Damien, Clayton and Taylor Sandoval, Charlotte and Carl Jensen, and Emma and Elvis Cubic; and a great-grandson, Ryan Walker.

Services were held Monday, Oct. 2, at Libby Baptist Church.

Nelson & Vial Funeral Home handled cremation arrangements.
