Marie Jones

Marie Rosalie Jones, 84, formerly of Libby, died Wednesday, Sept. 27, 2006, in St. Patrick Hospital in Missoula.

Marie was born Oct. 22, 1921, in Caw, Okla., to Charles and Sarah Carson.

She married Paul J. Jones on April 7, 1939, and after living in Missoula and Swan Lake, they moved to Libby.

Marie was a 50-year member of Libby Women's Club, a longtime Girl Scout leader and camp director, and an avid square dancer, attending many national square dance conventions and teaching for many years in Libby.

Marie was preceded in death by her husband and grandson, Eric Almeida.

She is survived by her twin daughters. Shirline and husband Ignacio Almeida of Libby and Pauline and husband Fred Schroeder of Helena; granddaughter Sally and husband Rick Cordier of Arlee and their children Damon, Dustin and Devin; stepchildren Tyler, Lindsay and Jace Cordier; grandson Greg Almeida and wife Amy of Tracy, Calif., and their children Michael and Emily; granddaughter Shannon and husband Jim Thomas of Helena and their children James and Carson; and granddaughter-in-law Donna Almeida and her daughters Tanya and Erika of Belen, N.M.

Graveside services were held Saturday, Sept. 30, in Ronan.
