Keith Hughart
Former Troy resident Keith E. Hughart, 81, died Saturday, Sept. 30, 2006, in an Ogden, Utah, hospital of complications from heart surgery and emphysema.
Keith was born on April 9, 1925, in Hawthorn, Calif., and grew up in Paradise, Utah.
He joined the Navy in 1943 and served as a pharmacist's mate in the South Pacific. When the war ended, he married and then settled in the Pacific Northwest.
Keith moved to Troy in 1954, where he built a sawmill and ran logging and sawmill operations. He moved on to work in Hawaii, California, Arizona, Louisiana and Utah.
When Keith retired, he moved to the family homestead in Paradise, Utah.
He is survived by his children, Sherrie Hughart Garcia, Cathy Hughart Dawson and Gregory, Mike and Dell Hughart; and several grandchildren.
Services were held for Keith and his beloved dog, Bubba, at graveside in Paradise.
