Alcine Lien

Alcine Lien, 80, a longtime Troy resident, died Friday, Nov. 10, 2006, at Henderson, Nev.

She was born July 15, 1926, in Emigrant to Carl and Hazel Laffoon. The family lived at Livingston before coming to Troy when Alcine was 10 years old.

Alcine was baptized in 1939 at the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Bonners Ferry, Idaho.

She attended grade school in Troy and later attended high school at Walla Walla, Wash.

She married Eugene A. "Gene" Lien in 1945 in Richland, Wash., returning to Troy shortly thereafter where she lived for the past 60 years.

Alcine was an active member of Kootenai Senior Citizens Center in Troy.

Her husband preceded her in death in 1987.

She is survived by her children, Cheri Osterberg of Henderson, Nev., and Darryl Lien of Troy; a sister, Arlene Vial of Spokane, Wash.; her grandchildren, Tina Westlund, Jonna Sansom and Griffin Lien; her great-grandchildren Adam, Tony and Alexandria Westlund and Jade Sansom; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 22, at Troy Christian Fellowship. Interment services will follow at Milnor Lake Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to service time at the church.
