Robert Sanderson

Robert J. (Bob) Sanderson, 63, died Wednesday, March 8, 2006, at his home in Libby.

He was born Aug. 26, 1942, at Anaconda, to Byron Sanderson and Susan Redd Sanderson and was raised and educated at Philipsburg.

He had worked most of his life as a self-employed trucker, working on many construction projects throughout western Montana. He and his family company, Sanderson Trucking, had hauled much of the gravel required throughout the Libby Dam project.

He married Jan Lowe on July 10, 1965, at Anaconda.

He enjoyed jeeping, working in his yard, going to Henry's Restaurant for coffee and greatly enjoyed his grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife Jan; his children, Heather Sanderson and fiance Dave Boone of Chicago, Joseph Sanderson and wife Lisa of Bogart, Ga., and Tyson Sanderson and wife Jamie of Libby; brother K.E. "Sandy" Sanderson of Libby; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Byron "Speed" Sanderson.
