Georgene "Gigi" Shumaker

Georgene "Gigi" Shumaker, 57, died Mach 2, 2006 in Portland, Ore.

She was born Feb. 19, 1949, to George and Elnora Schnieder in Portland, Ore. Her parents divorced when she was a young child and her mother married Kenneth Wamsley who raised Georgene as his own. Georgene had always told her step-father, Ken, that she was very fortunate to have had two wonderful dads in her life.

Georgene attended Portland and Tigard schools. She married Ron Paola and they had two sons, Nic and Ryan. She moved to Libby in 1981 and then she moved to Choteau where she met and married Gene Shumaker. They lived in Ulm.

Georgene was a very compassionate and caring person who was in Portland helping her father when she died in her sleep. She was an excellent cook and seamstress. She made beautiful quilts. She was very active in her community.

Survivors include her husband, Gene Shumaker, her parents, George and Elnora Schnieder, Ken Wamsley, her two sons, Ryan and Nic Paola, step-son, Ivan, three grandchildren, three step-sisters, Barbara, Patty, and Ginny, and her step-brother Mike. She is also survived by numerous other relatives and friends who loved her and will miss her wonderful smile and caring spirit. Georgene left too soon but will live in everyone's hearts forever.

A memorial service will be held for Georgene in Ulm.
