George 'Kootenay' Kovar

George "Kooteney" Kovar, 53, formerly of Troy, died June 20, 2006, in Spokane.

George was born Jan. 19, 1953, in Kootenai Falls while his mother was on the way to the hospital. He was the youngest of the late John and Tressa Kovar's 10 children.

George attended school in Billings and graduated in 1976 from high school in Jamestown, N.D. He then moved to the family farm in Iron Creek Valley near Troy.

George later moved to Spokane.

He enjoyed professional wrestling, working on his computer, family, and young children, especially babies.

George is survived by brothers, Robin Kovar of Otis Orchards, Wash., and John Todd Kovar and his wife, Dani, of Liberty Lake, Wash.; sisters, Stacia Fifield and her husband, Glen, of Troy, Luella "Becky" Krebs of Libby, Caroline Guthrie of Spokane and Linda Lockman and her husband, Gordon, of Clarkfork, Idaho; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He also was preceded in death by a brother, Martin Kovar; sisters, Christine Eatinger and Susan Bennett; a niece, Robin Bennett; and nephews Harvey Krebs and Mike Lockman.

Graveside services will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, July 1, at Troy Cemetery with the Rev. Gene Bushnell officiating.
