Casey Kieffer

E. T. 'Casey" Kieffer, 94, of Stevensville, died Wednesday, July 12, 2006, at his home.

He was born July 28, 1911, in Howe, Okla., to David and Ella Mae Robson Kieffer.

Casey married Leila Roxy Eldridge on June 3, 1931, in Missoula. She died June 6, 1989. Then he married Millie Weigand on May 20, 1990. She died Jan. 29, 2006.

Casey retired from Northern Pacific Railroad.

He was an avid outdoorsman. From his early years to later years, Casey enjoyed fishing and hunting. Many times he would take his grandchildren to the high lakes.

Casey was a caring man and exhibited this by donations to caring organizations.

He was a member of Victor Senior Citizens.

He also was preceded in death by brothers, Ed and Elmer Kieffer; a daughter, Wanda; and a grandson, Calvin.

Casey is survived by his son, David Kieffer, and wife, Hazel, of Libby; step-daughter, Edith Wark of Stevensville; grandchildren Pam Nelson of Edmonds, Wash., Steve Kieffer of Wadsworth, Ill., Heidi Binau of Billings, Brian Kieffer of Libby and Brad Therriault of Great Falls; and numerous great-grandchildren.

The funeral was held Monday, June 17, at Victor Community Church with the Rev. Malcolm Woodard officiating.

Burial followed at Sunnyside Cemetery in Stevensville.

Memorials should be made to Stevensville Pantry Partners or Victor Senior Citizens Center.

The Whitesitt Funeral Home in Stevensville handled arrangements.
