Fourth-graders make donation to needy family

Doreen Gruber's fourth-grade class at Asa Wood saved money from their allowances and drew from their savings to give to the holiday Tree of Sharing, sponsored by the Montana Athletic Club-Libby, for a needy family in the community.
For the past four years the club has sponsored the tree during the holiday season, said club manager Bonnie Morrow. This year donations in cash and gift certificates totaled nearly $500, Morrow said.
"The response to the Tree of Sharing is always amazing," Morrow said.
Morrow said she greatly appreciates the donation by the students. The project was suggested to the students by their teacher, who exercises regularly at the club before the school day begins.
