Zeita Romeiko

Zeita M. Romeiko, 86, of Libby, died Wednesday Jan. 25, 2006, at St. John's Lutheran Hospital from natural causes.

She was born Jan. 15, 1920, in Alberta, Canada. She moved with her family to Bonners Ferry, Idaho, at the age of 3. At the age of 13 she moved to Bremerton, Wash.

She married Joseph Romeiko on June 16, 1944. They moved back to Montana in the early 1950s and then to the Yaak in the late 1950s. She lived in the Yaak for over 30 years.

For many years she used to mill her own wheat in to flour to make bread.

Her husband Joseph preceded her in death in 1999, at which time she moved to Libby to live with her daughter. She helped start the community hall in the Yaak.

She enjoyed handwork, crafts, and reading especially books written by Zane Grey and Louis L'Amour. She enjoyed riding a motorcycle with her husband and had traveled all over the Yaak.

Survivors include her daughter Yvonna Meyer and husband LaVern of Libby and grandchildren William, Debra, Shawn, Monica, and Tammy.

Service will be held at a later date. Local arrangements are by Nelson & Vial Funeral Home.
