To the Editor:
I had a very serious life-threatening medical emergency in November at a residence in the Happy's Inn area. It was very late at night and a 45-mile drive to the hospital.
A call was made to 911 and the Fisher River Valley Volunteer Fire/Rescue Company was dispatched to the residence. A crew of four arrived within what seemed like minutes.
The competence and professional care of this crew, which included Brandy Donald, Herman Pentilla, Kirk Kraft and George Neils, was exceptional. I feel that they saved the life of a stubborn old man.
I don't know if that was good for the world but it surely gives one a great deal of confidence knowing that this organization exists.
