Mary Catherine Ciesla

Mary Catherine Ciesla, 85, of Libby died Saturday, Jan. 7, 2006 at her home in Libby from natural causes.

She was born June, 11, 1921 in Chicago, Ill., to John and Catherine Boksa Lachucik. She grew up and attended school in Chicago. She went to work after her sophomore year in high school to help support the family.

Mary married Stanley Ciesla in 1940 in Chicago, Ill. They made their home in Chicago until Stanley retired in 1980. They then moved to Florida. She moved to Libby in 1990 where she enjoyed going to the senior citizens center.

She was preceded in death by her husband Stanley.

Survivors include two children Dan Ciesla and his wife Sandra of Florida; Jane Iovino and husband Joe of Libby; a brother John Lachucik and his wife Irene of Chicago, Ill.; two sisters Helena Repta and her husband John of Chicago, Ill.; Lorraine Jarecki and husband Frank of Chicago, Ill.; grandchildren Eric, Jim, Tony, Nick, Gigi, Kathy, Trish and numerous great-grandchildren.

Mass of the Resurrection will be at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 18, 2006 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Libby. Local arrangements are by the Nelson and Vial Funeral Home in Libby.
