Myrtle Benoit

Myrtle G. Benoit, 83, of Libby, died Friday, Dec. 30, 2005, at the Libby Care Center.

Myrtle, along with her husband and family, came to the Kootenai Valley in 1960 where she had made her home for the past forty-five years.

She was born to Harry and Viola Porter on May 27, 1922 at Clairmont, N.H., and had been a resident of Newport, N.H., until coming to Montana in 1960.

A person of good humor and fun, she enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting, fishing and camping as well as sewing, gardening and canning.

Survivors include her husband Edward of Libby; her children, Ronald Philbrick of Arizona; and Bonnie Graham and Holly Benoit-McKenzie, both of Libby; a sister, Phyllis Sanders of New Hampshire as well as several grandchildren.

Private interment will be in the City of Libby Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Foundation. Arrangements are by Nelson and Vial Funeral Home.
