Law officers deserve better treatment by public
To the Editor:
My name is Patrick Childs and I'm a temporary inmate in B Block at Lincoln County Jail.
My respect for law enforcement officers has always been very low due to my ignorance. All this changed on 2-10-06 between hours of 1 and 7 a.m. Officers Tom Creighton and Travis Miller was on duty when they had four arrests between these hours. It was three men and one woman.
What I witnessed was frightening, appalling and very upsetting.
First of all, I did not realize people could get this bad. These people were incredibly out of control. The hell these two officers went thru on the 10th was horribly sad.
But it was incredibly amazing to see these officers keep their integrity and professionalism, throughout this horrific night. They both should be highly commended for their outstanding performance.
If this is part of being a law enforcement officer my heart goes out to each and every one of you. May God watch over you always. Needless to say my respect has changed incredibly. Thank you officers.
