Cheney should be sent to Iraq with shotgun

| February 16, 2006 11:00 PM

To the Editor:

I am an 80-year-old veteran of WWII, and an avid hunter. I am writing in regard to Vice President Dick "Peaches" Cheney's so called accident.

The White House is saying it was the victim's fault for getting shelled. I do not buy that. Dick Cheney did have a valid license, he took an oath to defend the Constitution, and obey the laws of the land, which in this case he did not do.

If it was me, I would lose my hunting privilege and my gun or rifle and banned from hunting.

A bird in the hand is better than two in the brush but a bird in hand is not worth shooting your friend. You do not shoot a rustling in the brush. Identify your target or don't shoot.

What would have happened if this man was dead? Did he commit suicide?

Plus, when you have a bird dog why didn't it go after the bird? Also your dog should retrieve the bird. Why were they not used?

I think just punishment for Dick Cheney is to give him a trusty 28 gauge shotgun, and send him to Iraq without body armor.

Maybe our boy could come home!
