Politicians are magicians drawing attention from issues
To the Editor:
Much like the magician on stage, the master of illusion and deception, the debate of Sam Alito's appointment to US Supreme Court Justice; Roe v Wade drew to a close today. Ah, the great deception perpetrated on the American people.
In this day and age with both modern and the more traditional methods of contraception, the subject of abortions should be moot. The magician has focused our attention away from the real problems of today. Border security, illegal immigration and sadly politicians that serve special interest groups rather than their constituents.
Perhaps it is time for a change away from rule by an oligarchy. This the word which Mr. Waters was looking for in his recent letter to the editor. A change to a new political system, democracy. A system that represents its constituents. We could call it the Patriots Party. Perhaps we Patriots could get together in groups and discuss the problems which affect home town, our county and Montana. Perhaps we could elect officials that actually represented us, their constituents.
To do this we would need to get involved. It is hard to get involved. Involvement is not something that most people want to do. It is much easier and far less time consuming to remain uninvolved. The politicians knows this. They count on it, us not becoming involved. They are the magician, directing our attention away in a needless debate to keep us preoccupied less we focus on the magician winking at his shill, and become involved.
