Wanda Richardson
Wanda M. Richardson, 77, of Troy, died Monday, Dec. 18, 2006 at St. John's Lutheran Hospital.
Wanda was born Aug. 8, 1929, in Pocatello, Idaho.
She was raised and educated in Idaho, graduating from high school at Leadore.
Wanda married Roy Richardson June 19, 1948, in Idaho Falls. They came to Libby in 1949 and moved to Troy in 1964.
Wanda and Roy owned and managed Holiday Motel for 33 years and operated the Exxon service station and convenience store. They retired from the service station in 1992 and the motel in 1997.
Wanda and Roy had their marriage sealed in 1997 at the Idaho Falls LDS Temple.
Wanda was a longtime member of the LDS Church and an active member of the Relief Society.
She enjoyed a large circle of friends, especially birthday lunches and getting pushed down the road for Thursday lunch by her walking buddies. Wanda still enjoyed picnics and hot dog roasts, and any opportunity to travel, especially for Seattle Mariners games with her grandson, Erin, and great-grandsons, Alex and Nolan.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1998.
Wanda is survived by her children, Karla Hays and Roy Richardson, both of Troy; brothers Burdette Taylor and his wife, Linda, of Troy and Larry Bolstad and his wife, Ronnie, of Phillipsburg; grandchildren Erin Cramer and Kelly Hays; great-grandchildren Alex and Nolan; numerous nieces and nephews; and her faithful companion, Clouseau.
Services were held Thursday, Dec. 21, at Libby Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints with President Stewart Briskin conducting; committal services followed at Troy Cemetery.
Arrangements were by Nelson & Vial Funeral Home.
