Evelyn Janicke

Evelyn Janicke, 89, formerly of Libby, died Tuesday, Dec. 12, 2006, at Immanuel Lutheran Home in Kalispell.

She was born Oct. 21, 1917, in Wannaska, Minn., to John and Emma Johnson. She was the oldest of six children.

Evelyn enjoyed cooking and became a reputable cook in some of the finer restaurants in Whitefish and Libby. She also enjoyed fishing, hunting, playing cards, and being with family.

She was preceded in death by her husband Frank Janicke, daughter Arlene Wheat and three brothers.

She is survived by sons Wayne, Frank Jr. and Kenneth Janicke; a sister, Marlene O'Brien and her husband, George, of Minnesota; a brother, Jack Johnson, and his wife, Judy, of Martin City; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Dec. 15, at Woodlawn Cemetery in Columbia Falls. There will be no visitation.

Johnson Mortuary & Crematory handled arrangements.
