George Williams Sr.

George Williams Sr., 67, of Libby, died Monday April 17, 2006, at Health Care Northwest in Kalispell.

He was born March 5, 1939, in Fullerton, Calif., to Theodore and Irene Gziskowski Williams. He grew up in Fullerton and graduated from Fullerton High School in 1957.

He attended Shasta College in California and received a degree in diesel mechanics. He worked on heavy equipment for a number of years. He moved to Libby in 1983, where he worked for Tech Refrigeration and then owned and operated Advanced Appliances.

He enjoyed wood working, mechanics and Western novels and movies.

Survivors include six children — George Williams Jr. and wife Sarah of Libby, Jane Smook and husband Shaun of Libby, Janet Kurle and husband Chris of Soldotna, Alaska, Luke Attwel and wife Shonnah of Savannah, Ga., Ted Williams of Seattle, Wash., and Kathleen Glowen and husband Dave of Spokane, Wash.; two sisters, Barbara Tilchman of Sacramento, Calif., and Grace and husband Nick of Wausau, Wis.; and eight grandchildren.

Services were held on Thursday, April 20, at the Family Worship Center. Local arrangements are by the Nelson & Vial Funeral Home in Libby.
