Judith A. Jaynes Spencer, 62, of Libby died Friday, April 14, 2006, at her home in Libby from natural causes.

She was born May 9, 1942, in Carrington, N.D., to Ernest and Alice Huiting Leir. She came to Libby at the age of 3 months.

She was raised and educated in Libby and graduated from Libby High School in 1960. She worked for 22 years for St. Regis Paper Company and Champion International. She enjoyed crossword puzzles family pictures and reading her newspaper.

Survivors include son Kenneth (Pete) Jaynes of Libby, daughter Tracy Jaynes of Libby; two sisters, Germaine Blanchard and her husband Dick of Hot Springs and Jayne Dauphine and her husband George of Libby; two brothers, Richard Leir and wife Donna of Covington, Wash., and Sidney Leir and wife Patti of Dufer, Ore.; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and four cousins, Bonnie Swenson of Libby, Dixie Lewis of Spokane, Wash., Kermit Leir of Twin Falls, Idaho, and Terry Leir of Libby.

Services will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, April 19, at the Nelson & Vial Funeral Home in Libby. Visitation will be from 1 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday.
