Kory Uithof

Kory Uithof, 79, died Monday, April 10, 2006, at Cooney Rest Home in Helena.

She was born Jan. 27, 1927, to John and Mary Hadwen in Missoula. The family moved to Canada a short time later and she lived and worked there until her retirement in the 1970s.

Kory met and married Al Uithof shortly after moving to Washington. Kory and Al traveled extensively in their retirement, wintering in their home in Quartzite, Ariz., and summering in Libby and Crystal Lake.

Kory had a love for animals and found her greatest comfort in the outdoors. She enjoyed traveling and was an avid fisherman, boots and all. Al died in November 2005.

Kory is survived by stepchildren Guy Uithof and wife Deanna of Helena, Robert Uithof and wife Linda of Libby and Sandra and Wells and husband Charlie of Yakima, Wash., along with several grandchildren.

Graveside services were held Thursday, April 13, at Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Helena.

Memorials in Kory's name are suggested to the Cooney Rest Home Activities Dept., 2555 E. Broadway St., Helena, MT 59601.

Service arrangements are under the direction of Retz Funeral Home in Helena.
