Marcus Hathaway

Marcus LeRoy Hathaway, 67, died Thursday, April 6, 2006, at his home along Bull Lake Road near Troy.

He was born on Aug. 19, 1938, in Polson, to Donald and Violet Nelson Hathaway. He was raised in Polson where he attended school.

He ranched in Polson and later moved to Troy where he lived until his death. His hobbies included playing cards and motorcycles. He was a member of the Abate group. Munching popcorn and watching television were his favorite pastimes; he was also a lover of Reese's Peanut Butter Cups.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters Lenora Sheperd and Ruby Symmington, and brother Jesse.

Survivors include his son, Kevin Kirkwood of Troy; two sisters, Ruth in Wyoming and Donna Wright of Troy; two brothers, Bill of Polson and Donald of Bonners Ferry, Idaho; nephew and niece Alford and Donna Wright of Troy; great-nephew Travis of Troy; and great-niece Justina of Trout Creek.

Private family services will be held. Local arrangements are by Nelson & Vial Funeral Home in Libby.
