James Sweepe

James W. Sweepe, 69, of Libby, died Friday evening, March 31, 2006, at a Kalispell hospital.

James had been involved in construction as a private building contractor for many years in northern California and Washington State before retiring and coming to Libby 10 years ago.

He was born at Pittsburgh, Pa., on Jan. 25, 1937 to Robert and Anne Sweepe. An avid outdoorsman for many years, he enjoyed snowmobiling, fishing and the Montana great outdoors.

Surviving him are his wife Rickie Fine-Sweepe of Libby; his children, Virginia Irby of Paradise, Calif.; Keith Sweepe of Exeter, Calif.; Nadine Hankins of Lincoln City, Ore.; and Kevin Sweepe of Bend, Wash.; a brother, Don of Pasco, Wash.; as well as two sisters, JoAnn of Arizona and Sally of South Carolina; 12 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

A public visitation will be Monday from 3:30-8 p.m. at the Nelson and Vial Funeral Home in Libby. Private interment will be in the City of Libby Cemetery.
