Bobbe Hawthorne

Barbara (Bobbe) Hawthorne, 89, the mother of a Troy man, died on Sept. 21, 2005, at the Immanuel Lutheran Home in Kalispell.

She was born on Dec. 10, 1915, at Stetler, Alberta, Canada, to James and Laura Foster.

Her childhood was spent in Post Falls, Idaho, where she grew up and married her childhood sweeetheart, Leslie Hawthorne.

In addition to being a homemaker, she was manager of the Office of Economic Opportunity at Gig Harbor, Wash., for 10 years.

In retirement, Bobbe enjoyed traveling with Les in their RV to the warm southern states, playing golf and visiting their children and grandchildren.

Bobbe was a lifelong member of the Presbyterian Church in Post Falls. Devoted to her family, she gave each one the gift of unconditional love.

She was preceded in death by her husband Les, son Les Jr., brother Jimmie Foster, sisters Pauline Foster, Helen Travis, Beth Schneckloth and Emma Jean Whiteley.

Survivors include her children Gary, Las Vegas, Nev.; Jimmy, Troy, and Shelly Withall, Kalispell, 10 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren, along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Graveside services were conducted at the Evergreen Cemetery in Post Falls on Saturday.

English Funeral Chapel in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, was in charge of arrangements.
