Mary Virginia Mount

Mary Virginia Mount, 85, a longtime Washington educator who grew up in Libby, died Sept. 5, 2005, at Riverview Care Center in Spokane.

She was born on Sept. 8, 1919, at Delavan, Ill., to William and Alma Rogers. Later she was adopted by D.O Mount, attended Libby schools, and graduated from Libby High School with the Class of 1936.

She attended Whitworth College in Spokane, and earned a masters of librarianship from the University of Washington.

Mary Virginia retired from teaching in the Lake Washington School District at Kirkland, in 1972.

Her memberships included the Mount Vernon Presbyterian Church, Washington Education Association and the National Education Association.

She enjoyed reading, camping and bird watching.

Survivors include Rick and Jan Billings, Spokane; special friends of the family of Agnese Conn, Julie and Jed Kedicka in Alaska; Karen and Mel Saunders, Alaska; Barbara Morrison, Spokane, and Ralph Omholt, Kirkland.

At her request there will be no services.

Inurnment will be in Bow Cemetery.

Arrangements are under the direction of Hulbush Funeral Home at Burlington, Wash.
