Esther Killen

Esther N. Killen, 75, of Libby, died at Libby on Aug. 23, 2005.

She came to Libby five years ago from the Washington coast area where she had lived for several years.

Esther was born in Dixon County, Va., to Joseph Ashby and Susie Florence Smith Ashby.

Raised and educated in Virginia, Esther worked for the U.S. Forest Service.

She was preceded in death by three children, Tim Bowman, Phillip Killen and Gary Murphy.

Survivors include her children Watson Lee Hill, Las Vegas, Nev.; Margaret Bowman, Billings; Joseph Murphy, Key West, Fla.; Evelyn Bowman, Libby; Wanda Sue Ashby and Lester Wayne Ashby, both in Virginia; Ramona Killen, Angie Killen and Lisa Killen, all of Libby, 11 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 6, at the City of Libby Cemetery with Pastor Kevin Lindren officiating.

Arrangements were by Nelson & Vial Funeral Home.
